Discover the southern Ebro Delta on a 3-hour guided route combining Les Olles Lagoon, coastal viewpoints, rice fields and the shores of Fangar Bay.
About this tour
This 3-hour route explores the meeting point of freshwater wetlands, rice-growing country and the marine edge of the Ebro Delta. Starting in L’Ampolla, guests follow the guide on foot and in their own vehicle toward Les Olles, the Delta’s smallest lagoon and an important refuge for waterbirds.
Stops around the lagoon use observatories and viewpoints to scan open water, reed margins and nearby fields. Ducks, egrets, kingfishers, Black-winged Stilts and flamingos are among the stated possibilities, but sightings vary with season, water level and recent bird activity.
The route then follows the coast from L’Ampolla toward the small fishing harbour at Illa de Mar, adding views over Fangar Bay and the surrounding rice landscape. The experience is designed as an accessible introduction to several habitats rather than a guaranteed checklist. Transport is not supplied, so guests must have their own vehicle for the road sections.

Les Olles Lagoon and Fangar Bay
Meet at the Camping Ampolla Playa reception in L’Ampolla, then follow the guide on foot and in the guest’s vehicle to Les Olles Lagoon. Use the viewpoints to watch waterbirds before continuing through rice-field and coastal habitat. Complete the route beside Fangar Bay near the fishing harbour of Illa de Mar.
