The route follows a 5.5-kilometer loop by boat and takes about 40 minutes, giving birders an open-water perspective on the reserve and the reed-fringed lagoon.
A local guide provides explanations in Spanish during the outing. Reading guides are available on the boat in English and other languages. Bird activity varies with season, weather and water conditions; Albufera Nature highlights winter as the best period for this reserve, but sightings are never guaranteed. The wider lagoon supports herons, gulls, terns, ducks and other waterbirds, so the trip works as an introduction to the area’s wetland birdlife rather than a fixed species chase.
Advance reservation is required. The standard starting price is EUR 6 per person when at least five people join the departure. If that minimum is not met, the departure has a EUR 30 minimum charge.
