Falsterbo Peninsula Private Full-Day Birding
A private full-day migration-focused birding trip from Copenhagen to Falsterbo, exploring coastal habitats for raptors, shorebirds and passing songbirds.
About this tour
Falsterbo sits at the southwestern tip of Sweden, where the Scandinavian landmass funnels migrants toward the coast. The peninsula is famous for autumn raptor passage, but its shorelines, scrub, gardens and wetlands make it productive across a much broader part of the year.
Adult shorebirds begin moving from June, followed by waders, gulls and terns through July and August. Honey Buzzard, Hobby, Osprey and Marsh Harrier may pass during late summer, while the movement of passerines and larger raptors intensifies from mid-September into October. Common Buzzard and Eurasian Sparrowhawk can be numerous, with kites, harriers, falcons and eagles possible under suitable conditions. Spring offers resting passerines and breeding Pied Avocets.
This private day trip crosses the Øresund Bridge from Copenhagen and follows current migration reports, wind and visibility. The itinerary remains flexible because numbers and species vary substantially from day to day.
