Skåne Private Full-Day Birding Tour
A flexible private day across Skåne’s coast, woodland, lakes and farmland, seeking seasonal migrants, raptors, woodpeckers and southern Swedish specialties.
About this tour
Across the Øresund from Copenhagen, Skåne offers a varied southern Swedish landscape within practical reach of the city. Beyond Falsterbo, a flexible full-day route can combine coast, lakes, farmland, rolling valleys and woodland according to the season and target interests.
Winter favors eagles, kites, buzzards, geese and early woodpecker activity. Spring brings cranes, arriving songbirds, breeding waders and terns. Summer supports woodland and open-country breeders, while migration becomes the main theme from August through October. Later autumn and winter can add Waxwing, Nutcracker, shrikes and occasional owls.
The guide has visited the region’s migration sites since 2007 and chooses among several areas around 45–60 minutes from Copenhagen, with more distant options considered when conditions justify them. The private format can prioritize new birds, photography, identification or a broad seasonal list, without promising particular wild-bird sightings.
