About this tour

This 3-day Khok Kham & Pak Thale Bird Watching Tour is designed for birders seeking close encounters with some of Southeast Asia’s most important migratory shorebirds. Located along the Upper Gulf of Thailand, the salt pans and coastal wetlands of Khok Kham, Pak Thale, and Lam Pak Bia provide vital wintering and stopover habitats for thousands of birds migrating from northern Asia.

The tour begins with a transfer from Bangkok to Khok Kham, where extensive salt pans attract large concentrations of waders, including the critically endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper and the endangered Nordmann’s Greenshank. Over the following days, birding continues at Pak Thale and Lam Pak Bia sandspit, well-known for plovers, sandpipers, terns, and egrets.

The itinerary combines early-morning and afternoon birding sessions, maximizing viewing conditions and photographic opportunities. The tour is suitable for both experienced birders and enthusiastic beginners and includes professional guiding, accommodation, meals, and ground transportation.

Best visited between November and April, this tour is a must for anyone interested in Asian shorebirds and coastal ecosystems.
