Meet the guide and begin the journey toward southwestern Uganda, with lodge check-in and briefing for the gorilla trek.
Complete the gorilla trekking briefing, hike with rangers and spend one hour with a gorilla family. Optional late afternoon birding around the lodge if time allows.
Travel toward Kibale National Park, passing rural western Uganda landscapes. Forest edge birding may be possible around the lodge depending on arrival time.
Track chimpanzees in Kibale with local guides. This forest can also support excellent birding, including turacos and seasonal forest specialties.
