About this tour

Explore Uganda's wetland, forest and savanna birding habitats with Alex Gabiito of African Skimmer Tours. This fifteen-day circuit begins around Entebbe and Mabamba Wetland, where a boat search for Shoebill leads into a northbound journey through Ziwa, Budongo Forest and Murchison Falls National Park.

The route then turns south to Kibale and Bigodi, Semuliki's lowland forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Kazinga Channel. Bwindi adds a full forest birding day and a proposed gorilla-tracking experience. The final section covers Lake Mburo by road and boat before returning to Entebbe.

Birding is the thread throughout the journey, with game viewing and primate activities where described in the daily plan. The programme involves early field starts, long road transfers and moderate physical effort. Departure dates, current price, accommodation, permits and detailed inclusions are confirmed after an inquiry. Birds and wildlife remain wild and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
