Private Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Birding Day with Alex Gabiito
Explore Mabamba’s papyrus wetland by boat on a private Uganda birding day focused on the Shoebill and other marsh birds.
About this tour
Mabamba Swamp offers a close look at the papyrus wetlands near Lake Victoria. On this private day with African Skimmer Tours, travel to the landing area and continue by local wooden boat into the channels for a guided birding session. The Shoebill is the headline target, but the wetland also holds kingfishers, jacanas, bee-eaters and other waterbirds.
The operator describes about two hours on the water. The pace and exact start time can be arranged around conditions and the group’s interests. Bird sightings are wild and cannot be guaranteed. Lunch, the wetland entry fee, ground transport and guiding are listed within the published day programme; confirm the current meeting or pickup arrangement and price when enquiring.
