About this tour

This full-day Oʻahu birding experience travels beyond Honolulu to sample the island’s contrasting habitats in one route. Forest stops seek Oʻahu’s endemic honeycreeper and ʻElepaio, while coastal, wetland and suburban sites add shorebirds, waterbirds, seabirds and introduced island species.

The day includes casual walks and driving between the island’s south and north shore landscapes. The exact sequence follows current conditions and bird activity, with an expert guide interpreting the birds, habitats, island geology and conservation context. Guests should be ready for one to two miles of walking on uneven ground that can be muddy.

Weekly group departures run from mid-August through early May for three to eight people, with a private option for up to 10. Waikīkī transport, snacks and online checklists are included; lunch is purchased during a local stop. All listed birds remain seasonal possibilities rather than guarantees.
