Lake Topanemus Autumn Bird Walk
A two-hour guided birdwatching walk with Lindsay McNamara at Lake Topanemus Park, welcoming beginner birders.
About this tour
Join the Fall in Love with Birds walk at Lake Topanemus Park in Freehold. Lindsay McNamara leads this two-hour Saturday morning birding outing, with a 9 am start and an 11 am finish. It is a welcoming introduction to watching birds outdoors, designed to make learning enjoyable for people with little or no previous birding experience.
The group pauses to observe what it finds, giving participants time to ask questions and practice using binoculars. Public walks have room for up to 25 people. Ten pairs of loan binoculars and a spotting scope are available through Beachy Birder Adventures, and guests are welcome to use their own equipment.
Allow for an easy-paced outdoor walk of approximately two miles, the usual format for Lindsay’s public outings. Take water, dress in layers and wear weather-appropriate closed-toe shoes. Families are welcome, and children younger than five attend free. Species vary with conditions, so the experience focuses on observation and discovery. Requests and participation arrangements are handled through BirdWatch.
