About this tour
Isla Talavera lies about 90 minutes north of Buenos Aires in the lower Paraná Delta. River channels, flooded fields, reedbeds, open marsh and riparian forest create a wetland community markedly different from the city’s reserves and nearby Pampas grasslands.
Birding begins as the road crosses into the delta. Much of the day is vehicle-supported along quiet dirt tracks, with short walks beside canals, through woodland patches or into reed habitat when a closer approach is useful. Scarlet-headed Blackbird, three reedhaunter species, rush tyrants, reed finches, marsh raptors, spoonbills and storks are among the stated possibilities.
Private guiding, Buenos Aires pickup and return, breakfast, lunch and water are included. Shared binoculars and a spotting scope can be available if required. Water levels, recent sightings and season determine the precise circuit, and the day remains flexible rather than promising a fixed list.
