About this tour
Iguazú places a large block of warm, humid Atlantic Forest around one of Argentina’s best-known landscapes. Birding inside the national park uses forest trails and viewing areas near the falls, including the Devil’s Throat sector when accessible, for toucans, piping-guans, manakins, tanagers and many other rainforest birds.
Time outside the main visitor circuit broadens the experience. Protected forest sites elsewhere in the region can be chosen for quieter fieldwork and species not readily found around the busiest paths. Jaguars and ocelots occur in the ecosystem, but they and all birds remain wild possibilities rather than expected sightings.
