Abbott's babbler

Pellorneum macropterum

The Abbott's babbler (Pellorneum macropterum) is a small, secretive bird found in the dense undergrowth of tropical and subtropical forests in Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a white throat and a long tail. This species is known for its melodious and varied calls, which it uses to communicate within its dense habitat. Abbott's babblers are primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates. They are often found in pairs or small groups and are known for their skulking behavior. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation pose potential threats to their populations.
