Curruca deserticola
The African Desert Warbler (Curruca deserticola) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the deserts and semi-deserts of North Africa and the Middle East. It has a distinctive pale eyebrow and a buffy underbelly. This species is known for its elusive nature, often remaining hidden in low vegetation. It forages for insects and spiders on the ground, using its sharp bill to probe the sandy soil. The African Desert Warbler is well-adapted to arid environments, where it can survive on limited water sources. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation pose potential future risks to its population.
