Andean Tinamou

Andean Tinamou is a tinamou of the Andes in South America, with a breeding range from Ecuador to central Argentina. It is placed in the family Tinamidae and the order Tinamiformes. The species is associated with high-altitude shrubland, and its habitat preference is subtropical and tropical shrubland between 800 and 4,100 m. It is found across the Andes from southern Ecuador to central Chile, and also in the Sierras de Córdoba in Argentina. The scientific name is Nothoprocta pentlandii.
