Asian Palm Swift, Cypsiurus balasiensis, is a swift of the Oriental Region, where it breeds widely across tropical Asia from India to the Philippines. It is closely tied to open country, cultivation and especially oil palms. The bird is a small resident breeder and is mainly pale brown. It has long wings that sweep back in a crescent-like shape, a slender body and a long, deeply forked tail that is usually kept shut. Its nest is fixed beneath a palm leaf with saliva, which also holds the eggs in place.
