Furnariidae — Ovenbirds
Band-tailed Earthcreeper, Ochetorhynchus phoenicurus, is a passerine in the Furnariidae family that breeds in southern Argentina. It also occurs in Chile. It is a smallish earthcreeper with a thin, straight bill and the sexes look alike. Adults show a white supercilium, a dark line behind the eye, and rufescent cheeks, while the crown and upperparts are plain dull gray-brown. The tail has a marked contrast between dark rufous bases and black tips on most feathers. It lives in arid scrublands and temperate grasslands, and remains in its range all year.
