Bar-tailed Lark

Ammomanes cinctura (Gould, 1839)

Bar-tailed Lark, Ammomanes cinctura, is a lark in the family Alaudidae and breeds across Africa and the Palearctic from Morocco to Pakistan. It is associated with hot desert habitat. The name is also applied to the rufous-tailed lark and the Cape clapper lark, so it can be confused with those species. It has a broad range and is common in some areas, though less so in others. Records indicate a gradual decline in numbers, but no clear threats have been identified.
