Apalis thoracica

The Bar-throated Apalis is a small, insect-eating bird found in the woodlands and forests of eastern and southern Africa. It has a distinctive black throat band and a white belly, with olive-green upperparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth where it forages for insects. The Bar-throated Apalis is a social bird, often seen in pairs or small groups. It builds cup-shaped nests in the vegetation, where it lays its eggs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future concerns for this species.
