Curruca nisoria (Bechstein, 1792)

Barred Warbler, Curruca nisoria, is a passerine in the Sylviidae family that breeds in the Palearctic and spends the non-breeding season in eastern Africa. It occurs across temperate parts of central and eastern Europe and through western and central Asia. Among Curruca warblers, it is the largest. Adults have a grey upperpart and a whitish underpart, with males darker above and strongly barred below. Females are similar but paler, with lighter barring. Young birds are buffy grey-brown above and pale buff below, with little barring. Adults have a yellow iris, while immature birds have a dark eye.
