About this tour
May is one of the strongest times for birdwatching in Hungary, with breeding activity, fresh plumage, active song and a broad range of wetland, steppe and woodland birds.
This five-day route visits Kiskunsag National Park, Tiszaalpar, Pusztaszer Nature Protection Area, the northern Kiskunsag sodic lakes and Hortobagy National Park.
The tour is designed for birders who want a compact Hungary route with accommodation around Kecskemet, daily field transport, meals and professional guiding included.

Airport pickup, transfer to accommodation around Kecskemet and, if time allows, first birding around Tiszaalpar wetland habitat near the accommodation.
Bird the southern part of Kiskunsag National Park, including Pusztaszer Nature Protection Area with fishponds, sodic lakes and grasslands.
Explore Kelemen-szek, Boddi-szek and Apaj-area fishpond and open puszta habitats, including Great Bustard country and grazing lands.
Travel to Hortobagy National Park for wetlands, fishponds and the largest continuous natural grassland in Europe.
Check out and return to the airport, with possible short local birding if flight timing allows.
