Oriolus oriolus
The Eurasian Golden Oriole is a strikingly beautiful bird with bright golden-yellow plumage, a black wing with white wing bars, and a distinctive pinkish bill. These medium-sized orioles are known for their melodious flute-like song, which is often heard in woodlands and forests during the breeding season. They are migratory birds, spending the winter in sub-Saharan Africa and returning to breed in Europe and parts of Asia. Their diet consists mainly of insects, fruits, and nectar. Eurasian Golden Orioles are typically found in broadleaved and mixed woodlands, often near water sources. They build their cup-shaped nests in the canopy of trees, using a variety of materials such as grass, roots, and plant fibers.
