Lesser Grey Shrike

Lesser Grey Shrike, Lanius minor, is a shrike of the family Laniidae that breeds across the Palearctic from southern Europe to southern Russia, and south to Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. It spends the non-breeding season in southern Africa. It was described by Gmelin, JF, 1788. A passerine bird, it is known for its range spanning both Europe and western Asia. It is also recorded as a scarce vagrant in western Europe, including Great Britain, on passage in spring or autumn.
