Bay Antpitta, Grallaria capitalis, is a passerine of the Grallariidae family found in south-central Peru, on the eastern slopes of the Peruvian Andes. It lives in humid montane forest undergrowth, especially where vegetation is thick and recovering after disturbance, including landslide scars, secondary forest edges and abandoned slash-and-burn plots. Chapman described it in 1926. It is a resident bird with a restricted range in Huánuco, Pasco and Junín, and it is the only member of its type. Adults show the same plumage in both sexes, with a dusky to dark russet crown and rufous chestnut upperparts.
