Black-and-yellow Broadbill

Eurylaimus ochromalus Raffles, 1822

Black-and-yellow Broadbill, Eurylaimus ochromalus, breeds in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and nearby islands, as well as northern Natuna, Borneo and Pulau Laut. It is a passerine in the typical broadbill family, first described by Raffles in 1822. A distinctive feature is the black breastband, which is not complete in females. The species nests during the dry season, with both adults sharing nest building and incubation. Its breeding clutch usually has two or three eggs, though a fourth small egg may be present.
