About this tour

Khao Nor Chuchi, also known as Khao Pra-Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary, protects an important remnant of lowland rainforest in Peninsular Thailand. The approximately 150-square-kilometer area supports more than 200 recorded resident and migratory bird species and is especially significant for lowland forest specialists.

Gurney’s Pitta is the central search target, alongside other pittas, babblers, kingfishers, trogons and barbets. The itinerary uses several forest trails at different times of day, giving the group repeated opportunities to listen and look in suitable habitat. All target species remain possible rather than guaranteed.

The final day adds a contrasting mangrove environment near Krabi Town. A boat session from Jao Fah Pier focuses on kingfishers, shorebirds and mangrove specialists before the tour ends with an agreed hotel or airport transfer. The three-day format combines intensive forest birding, air-conditioned accommodation and relatively easy trail walking, subject to current access and field conditions.
