Batrachostomus javensis (Horsfield, 1821)

Javan Frogmouth, Batrachostomus javensis, is a frogmouth of the Podargidae family that breeds in Java in the Oriental Region. It is a bird of lowland evergreen tropical forest, including swampy places with thick undergrowth, and it may also use deciduous forest, plantations, secondary growth and urban parks. The species was first named in 1821 by Horsfield. It is part of the frogmouth group and has been treated in different ways by later taxonomists. Its breeding range is confined to Java.
