Diard's Trogon

Phaenicophaeus diardi

Diard's Trogon is a medium-sized bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive appearance with a black head, upperparts, and breast, while the belly is white with fine black bars. The wings are black with white spots, and the tail is long and black with broad white bars. This species is known for its deep, rolling call that echoes through the forest. Diard's Trogon feeds on insects and small fruits, often perching quietly while hunting. It nests in tree cavities, and both parents take part in raising the young.
