Black Bulbul, Hypsipetes leucocephalus, is a bulbul of the Oriental Region, where it breeds widely across a broad span from Pakistan through the Himalayas to south-east Asia. It belongs to the passerine family Pycnonotidae. A notable feature of this bird is the variation within the species: body plumage may range from grey to black, and some individuals show a white-headed form. Its legs and bill are consistently rich orange-red.
