Black-capped Tanager, Stilpnia heinei, is a passerine of the tanager family found in South America from Venezuela to Ecuador. It inhabits montane forest and altered woodland, including forest edges and nearby open areas, and is linked to the Andes. The species was first described in 1851. It is a black-capped bird, with the male showing a striking contrast between the dark crown and the brighter upperparts and underparts. The female is duller, with a green-edged crown and greener upperparts.
