Black-eared Sparrow-Lark

Eremopterix australis (Smith, A, 1836)

Black-eared Sparrow-Lark, Eremopterix australis, is a lark of the family Alaudidae that breeds in Namibia, southern Botswana and South Africa. It was described by Smith, A, 1836. It occurs in subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and in subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. The name grey-backed sparrow-lark is sometimes applied to it, though that name is more often used for a different species, Eremopterix verticalis.
