Black-throated Spinetail, Synallaxis castanea, is a bird of the ovenbird family found in Venezuela. It is confined to the Venezuelan Coastal Range, from Aragua east to the area around Caracas in Miranda. Its home is montane evergreen forest, secondary growth, cloudforest margins and undergrowth, and it also appears beside brushy roads and in Chusquea bamboo. This species is a year-round resident. It was described by Sclater, PL, 1856.
