Blue-and-white Mockingbird, Melanotis hypoleucus, is a passerine of the Mimidae family that breeds in Middle America from southern Mexico to El Salvador. It was described by Hartlaub in 1852. It is a resident of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, and lives in humid evergreen forest edges, pine-oak woodland, second growth, and both humid and semi-arid scrub. Its upperparts are dull slate blue, with a darker crown, black wings and tail, a black facial mask, and white underparts that become greyer on the flanks and around the vent.
