Blue-naped Pitta, Hydrornis nipalensis, is a bird of the Oriental Region, breeding from Nepal to Myanmar, southern China and northern Vietnam. It belongs to the family Pittidae and was described by Hodgson in 1837. It has a short tail and a blue nape and hindneck. The upperparts are blue and green, while the underparts are reddish-yellow. The sexes are alike apart from the female, which has a reddish-brown hindcrown instead of blue and a green hindneck.
