About this tour
Explore two complementary elevations on the forested southern rim of Kathmandu Valley. The one-day option concentrates on Godawari Community Forest and the lower slopes, using accessible roadsides and forest patches for patient bird observation.
The two-day program adds the upper Phulchauki trails, where rockier terrain and higher-elevation habitat broaden the range of possible hill birds. The guide adjusts walking time and observation stops to the group, weather and current bird activity.
Private transport, guiding and the applicable community-forest or botanical-garden entrance are included. Guests provide their own food and drinks. The tour can run on most days, although quieter weekdays are recommended.

Day 1
Godawari lower forest
Spend about five to six hours birding along gentler roadside and forest-edge habitat on the lower slopes.
Day 2
Upper Phulchauki
Continue on higher, rockier trails for hill and highland birds not usually encountered in the lower forest.
