Brahminy Starling

Sturnia pagodarum

The Brahminy Starling is a small to medium-sized bird found in South Asia. It has a distinctive glossy black plumage with a metallic sheen, and its long tail and bright orange-yellow bill make it easily recognizable. These social birds are often found in open woodlands, agricultural areas, and urban environments, where they forage for insects, fruits, and nectar. The Brahminy Starling is known for its melodious and varied calls, and it often forms large flocks during the non-breeding season. While not currently considered at risk, habitat loss and urbanization pose potential threats to its populations.
