Brown Falcon

Falco berigora

The Brown Falcon (Falco berigora) is a medium-sized bird of prey found in Australia, New Guinea, and nearby islands. It has a wingspan of around 90-105 cm and is known for its distinctive brown plumage with pale streaks on the underparts. This raptor is often seen perched on elevated vantage points, scanning the ground for prey. Brown Falcons primarily feed on small mammals, birds, and insects. They are adaptable birds, found in a variety of habitats including open woodlands, grasslands, and agricultural areas. Their conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
