Bruce's Green Pigeon

Bruce's Green Pigeon, Treron waalia, is a pigeon of Africa and the south-western Arabian Peninsula, with breeding areas from Senegal and Gambia east to Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Socotra and Uganda, and also in the south-west Arabian Peninsula. It belongs to the Columbidae family. A notable feature is its lack of a uropygial gland. It is also known as the yellow-bellied fruit pigeon and the yellow-bellied green pigeon. Described by Meyer, FAA, in 1793, it is a member of the order Columbiformes.
