Cactus Canastero, Pseudasthenes cactorum, is a bird of the Furnariidae family in western Peru, where it is confined to the Andean slope. It occurs in arid montane scrub with scattered bushes and columnar cacti, from La Libertad south through Lima to Arequipa. It is a year-round resident in this range. The species was described by Koepcke in 1959 and is now placed in Pseudasthenes rather than Asthenes. Its breeding is thought to take place in the austral spring and summer, and it nests in columnar cacti.
