Canada Goose

Branta canadensis

The Canada Goose is a large waterfowl species native to North America. Known for its distinctive black head and neck with white cheek patches, it has a brownish-gray body and a long, black neck. These geese are often found in a variety of habitats, including lakes, rivers, marshes, and grassy fields. They are herbivorous and feed on grasses, sedges, and grains. Canada Geese are known for their V-shaped migratory formations and loud honking calls. They are adaptable and can be found in urban and suburban areas as well. Due to their adaptability and large population, their conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN.
