About this tour
Travel southwest from Saskatoon to Goose Lake, a prairie wetland complex used by ducks, geese, grebes, shorebirds, herons and marsh birds. Nearby pastures add habitat for meadowlarks, pipits, sparrows and other open-country species.
The four-hour option samples bird-rich locations between Saskatoon and the lake. A six-hour birding or photography programme provides more field time and may include a low-profile photography blind at a suitable accessible shoreline location. Photography from the vehicle is also possible.
This is an easy, approximately 150-kilometre self-drive outing with roadside stops, allowing many participants to remain in their vehicle. Participants supply their own or rented vehicle.
