Bald Eagle

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

The Bald Eagle is a majestic bird of prey found in North America. With a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet, it is known for its striking white head and tail contrasting with a dark brown body. Bald Eagles are powerful hunters, feeding mainly on fish and small mammals. They build large nests in tall trees near bodies of water, where they can easily spot their prey. These birds are highly territorial and are often seen soaring high in the sky, using their keen eyesight to locate food. Once endangered, conservation efforts have helped the Bald Eagle population recover, and it is now a symbol of strength and freedom.
