Say's Phoebe

Sayornis saya

The Say's Phoebe is a medium-sized flycatcher found in western North America. It has a gray-brown back, pale underparts, and a distinct cinnamon belly. This bird is known for its habit of wagging its tail up and down. It can be found in a variety of open habitats including deserts, grasslands, and agricultural areas. Say's Phoebes build cup-shaped nests on ledges or human-made structures. They primarily feed on insects, catching them in mid-air or by hawking from perches. This species is known for its adaptability and can often be found in suburban areas.
