Canebrake Wren, Cantorchilus zeledoni, is a wren of Middle America, breeding in eastern Nicaragua, eastern Costa Rica and north-western Panama. It lives in secondary forest, farmland and canebrakes, and avoids untouched forest. It is a member of the Troglodytidae. The species was split from the plain wren in 2016, following work that separated it from Cabanis’s wren and the isthmian wren on the basis of vocal and genetic differences. It is monotypic. Adults have a brown crown, grey-brown to olivaceous upperparts, a barred tail, and a pale supercilium with a dark eye stripe.
