Chestnut-sided Shrike-Vireo, Vireolanius melitophrys, is a passerine in the Vireonidae family that breeds in Middle America from central Mexico to Guatemala. It was described by Bonaparte in 1850. It is tied to humid montane forest, especially pine-oak woodland, and is found in tropical and subtropical forest zones, mostly at higher elevations. Among vireons it is one of the largest, and the sexes are not alike. Adults show green upperparts, pale underparts, chestnut on the sides, a slate head, yellow brows, black eye-lines, white cheeks and throat, pink legs and yellow eyes.
