Private Sierra Juarez Cloud Forest Birding
Follow a private two-day route through Sierra Juarez pine-oak and cloud forest toward the wetter Atlantic slope, with pickup from the guest hotel.
About this tour
Sierra Juarez creates a steep elevational transition from high pine-oak and cloud forest toward tropical evergreen habitat on the Atlantic slope. This private two-day format gives the route time to work across that gradient, where the bird community changes markedly with altitude and moisture.
Highland targets may include Dwarf Jay, Bumblebee Hummingbird, Aztec Thrush, Red Warbler, Collared Towhee and Chestnut-sided Shrike-Vireo. In lower, wetter forest the search shifts toward Yellow-tailed Oriole, Blue-crowned Chlorophonia, Sumichrast’s Wren, Azure-hooded Jay, Rufous-breasted Spinetail and Long-tailed Wood-Partridge.
Hotel pickup and the overnight programme were confirmed directly by Roque. Exact lodging, daily division and accessible stops are settled for each booking, so the public itinerary remains a route overview rather than an invented day-by-day schedule. Trips can operate throughout the year, with weather, road access and recent bird activity shaping the final plan.
