Collared Towhee, Pipilo ocai, is a passerine of the New World sparrows found in Mexico, where it is confined to Middle America. It was first described in 1865. This bird is tied to the edges of pine-oak and montane evergreen forest, as well as scrub in subtropical and temperate areas. Its range is split into several separate parts across southern Mexico. The species is a sedentary resident throughout the year, and it is the heaviest member of its family.
