Cinnamon Warbling Finch
Poospiza ornata (Landbeck, 1865)
Thraupidae — Tanagers & Allies
Cinnamon Warbling Finch, Poospiza ornata, is a tanager and ally that breeds in western Argentina in South America. It was described by Landbeck in 1865. The bird is mostly associated with dry parts of Argentina during the breeding season, and it moves north and east outside that period, with a possible reach into Uruguay. Its plumage is marked by grey upperparts, a slate-grey head, a cinnamon crescent below the eye and on the supercilium, two white wingbars, and a chestnut area across the middle of the back. The underparts are chiefly cinnamon, with a rufous breast and flanks.
