Citril Finch

Carduelis citrinella (Pallas, 1764)

Citril Finch, Carduelis citrinella, is a finch of montane forest edges and alpine meadows in the south-western Palearctic, breeding in Spain, southern and eastern France, Switzerland, northern Italy, southern Germany, Austria and north-west Slovenia. It moves to lower elevations outside the breeding season. In the mountains of south-western Europe it is a resident breeder, with the Black Forest in south-western Germany marking its northern breeding limit. The species was first described by Pallas in 1764.
