Coppery Emerald, Chlorostilbon russatus, is a hummingbird of the Trochilidae family that breeds in north-east Colombia and north-west Venezuela. It was described by Salvin and Godman in 1881. It is a monotypic species. The male has a black bill and shining golden green on the forehead, crown and upperparts, with coppery green uppertail coverts and a slightly forked golden coppery tail. The female is coppery green above, smoky grey below, and also has a slightly forked tail. It occurs in semi-open and open country, including scrub, forest margins and cultivated land.
